Questions answered

Why are BMP files so big?

BMP usually stores pixels without compression, so files can be many times larger than a JPG of the same image.

Will I lose quality?

JPG uses lossy compression. Higher quality settings keep more detail at a larger size.

Are files uploaded?

No. HEIC Photo processes files locally in your browser. Your photos are not uploaded to a server, saved in cloud storage, or sent to analytics. Optional analytics only receive non-identifying usage signals after consent.
